A

Agenda - a list of meeting activities in the order in which they are to be taken up

Airporta place where aircrafts regularly take off and land, with buildings for passengers to wait in

Aisle – a passage between seats in a plane

Announcement - something that someone says officially, giving information about something

Apprentice - a kind of a "helper" which has joined to the staff recently

Arrival the act of coming to a place

B

Baggage (luggage) – bags, cases, etc. that you take with you when you travel

Baggage claim - the place in an airport where you get your cases and bags when you arrive after flying

Barista - a person, usually a coffeehouse employee, who prepares and serves espresso-based coffee drinks

Bill - a request for payment of money owed, or the piece of paper on which it is written

Boarding pass - a card that a passenger must have in order to be allowed to get on an aircraft or a ship

To book-  to arrange to have a seat, room, performer, etc. at a particular time in the future

Booking office - a place at a station where tickets can be bought

Busser – a person who clears away dirty  dishes and set  tables

C

Cancel - to decide that an organized event will not happen, or to stop an order for goods or services that you no longer want

Carriage - any of the separate parts of a train in which the passengers sit

Chairperson (also chair, chairman, or chairwoman) - the presiding officer of an organized group such as a board, committee, or deliberative assembly

Chambermaid - a woman employed in a hotel to clean and tidy bedrooms

Check-in - to show your ticket at an airport so that you can be told where you will be sitting

Check-in desk - one of the places at an airport where you show your ticket so that you can be told where you will be sitting

Check out - to leave a hotel after paying and returning your room key

Coach - an airport bus used to transport people to and from, or within airports

Connecting flight – the flight which requires passengers to leave the plane and board a different aircraft in order to reach their final destination

Credit card - a small plastic card that can be used as a method of payment, the money being taken from you at a later time

Curio Shop - a souvenir shop

Customs - the place where your bags are examined when you are going into a country, to make sure you are not carrying anything illegal

D

Declare- to officially tell someone the value of goods you have bought, or the amount of money you have earned because you might have to pay tax

Department store - large shop divided into several different parts, each of which sells different things

Departure - the act of leaving a place, especially to start a journey to another place

Departure lounge- the area in an airport where passengers wait before getting onto an aircraft

Direct flight - any flight between two points by an airline with no change in flight numbers, which may include one or more stops at anintermediate point(s)

Domestic flight - a form of commercial flight within civil aviation where the departure and the arrival take place in the same country

Doorman - a person whose job is to stand by the door of a hotel or public building and allow people to go in or out, and to open their car doors, etc.

Double room - a room in a hotel for two people

F

Fare - the money that you pay for a journey in a vehicle such as a bus or train

Fire escape - a set of metal stairs, especially on the outside of a building, that allows people to escape from a burning building

Flight attendant- someone who serves passengers on an aircraft

G

Gate-  a part of an airport where travellers are allowed to get on or off a particular aircraft

H

Hand baggage -  the type of baggage that passengers are allowed to carry along in the passenger compartment of a vehicle instead of moving to the cargo compartment

Hardware stores (in a number of countries, "shops"), sometimes known as DIY stores, sell household hardware for home improvement

Host/hostess – someone who meets, greets and seats the guest

ID card - an official card with your name, date of birth, photograph, or other information on it that proves who you are

Invoice - a paper showing that products are sold and the money is paid.

L

Land -to (cause to) arrive on the ground or other surface after moving down through the air

Landing card-  a card given to passengers on a plane or boat that they must fill in with personal information about themselves and show to officials when they arrive in a foreign country

Lobby-  the (large) room into which the main entrance door opens in a hotel or other large building

Lost and Found - a place in a public building where things that people have lost are stored

Luggage rack - a shelf on a train, a plane or a bus on which you can put your bags and suitcases

M

Memo/memorandum("It must be remembered") - a written message that may be used in a business office

Minutes - the instant written record of a meeting or hearing

P

Passport -an official document containing personal information and usually a photograph that allows a person to travel to foreign countries and to prove who they are

Passport control - the place at a port, airport, or border where travellers' passports (official documents proving who someone is and allowing them to travel) are checked

Porter - a person whose job is to carry things, especially travellers' bags at railway stations, airports, hotels etc.

R

Reception- the place in a hotel or office building where people go when they first arrive

Reservation - an arrangement in which something such as a seat on an aircraft or a table at a restaurant is kept for you

S

Security tag - the objective of computer security includes protection of information and property from theft, corruption, or natural disaster, while allowing the information and property to remain accessible and productive to its intended users

Shareholder/stockholder - a person who owns shares in a company and therefore gets part of the company’s profit and the right to vote on how the company is controlled

Single room - a room in a hotel for one person

Sommelier – a person who prepares, brings and serves the wine ordered by the guest

Suitcase - a large, rectangular container with a handle, for carrying clothes and possessions while travelling

Suite - a set of connected rooms, especially in a hotel

T

Take off- the moment when an aircraft leaves the ground and begins to fly

Terminal-  the area or building at a station, airport, or port that is used by passengers leaving or arriving by train, aircraft, or ship

Timetable (schedule) - a list of the times when buses, trains, and planes leave and arrive

Train station - a place with one or more buildings and platforms where trains stop for people to get on or off

W

Waiting lounge - a room in a place where people can sit and relax while waiting in an airport

Warehouse store - a large store that sells large quantities of products at low prices to the public
